Student Academic Concerns
Students who have an academic concern may submit an appeal or a complaint, depending on the nature of the concern.
Academic appeal: submitted when a student disagrees with an academic determination, such as a change in academic status or a grade in a class. The process for submitting and handling an academic appeal is described here.
Academic complaint: submitted when a student has a complaint about a course, a program, curricula, instruction, or any other issues related to a student’s academic experience at Northeastern University. The process for submitting and handling an academic complaint is described here.

• Office for University Equity and Compliance: Students can make complaints regarding discrimination or harassment by contacting OUEC.
• Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution: Students can make complaints regarding student code of conduct violations by contacting OSCCR.
• We Care: Students can obtain support for unexpected challenges to maintaining academic progress by contacting We Care.
• Graduate Ombuds: Students seeking confidential, impartial, and informal assistance regarding concerns related to their university experience can contact the Ombuds for Graduate Students.
• Office of Global Services: U.S.-based F-1/J-1 interna;onal students and Canadian-based international students holding a study permit are encouraged to contact OGS to discuss potential impacts to their status.
• Northeastern University Anonymous Reporting Hotline: Report activities that may involve unethical or otherwise inappropriate activity or behavior in violation of one of the university’s established policies and procedures.
